Style Throwback: Caftans

Style Throwback: Caftans

Caftans are significant of 60's style and making a comeback due to chic bohemian style icons such as Rachel Zoe and Nicole Richie. I particularly love caftans because it's an easy way to maintain a chic, put-together look in this Miami  heat and humidity.  I got my caftan at Rebel Boutique in the Biscayne Corridor area just north of the Design District and paired it with Schultz Gladiator sandals from Brazil found at Joanna Page in Mary Brickell Village. The clutch is from JJWinters, an American brand out of California, and the necklace (South 60th) and earrings (m-16 by Karla Betances) are both from local Miami designers. The caftan is by an LA designer named YANAK.

Rebel Boutique was founded by Andrea-Singer Love, and opened in Miami Beach 11 years ago. Andrea, who hails from Germany, was inspired to open the shop because she and her daughters were having a hard time finding clothes that they liked and there weren't any "cool" boutiques at the time in Miami Beach. (Andrea's daughter picked out the name of the boutique). As a local, Andrea offers weather appropriate items without sacrificing style or fashion--and she's doing a great job at it! Recently, Andrea added vintage and consignment (which is big in LA) to provide a one-stop-shop where you can mix a Chanel blazer with ripped jeans, or a beaded vintage top --whatever you're in the mood for. You can find LA-based designer items on her racks such as Karina Grimaldi. If you, like most Miamians, are into instant gratifications, then this is the boutique for you! The location is great for multiple stops a week as they receive new merchandise daily and are open 7 days a week.  Rebel Boutique is located  at 6621 Biscayne Blvd, Miami FL 33138. When you get there, because I'm always looking out for my readers, simply mention my blog for a 20% discount at the register!

Joanna Paige is a family owned and operated shoes and accessories boutique located in Mary Brickell Village which is located in the Financial District of Miami Fl. Joanna is a Miami native who studied art in Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington D.C. Her mom and dad opened the store in 2007 at which time Joanna applied her vision of "attainable fashion" to the store. I personally love shopping here because I always score a special find in the latest trend and name brands I recognize without breaking the bank... :) Joanna Paige is located at 900 S Miami Ave # 182 Miami, FL 33130.

  • With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright infringement? My site has a lot of unique content I've either written myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement. Do you know any methods to help prevent content from being stolen? I'd really appreciate it.

  • The auto industry is getting all the attention during this recession but the construction industry is quietly feeling the pain also. 'Clients so far seem to be an interesting mix of folks who are into nice stuff, and like to have the latest, but also folks who are just really passionate about the sport and when possible, like to spend their hard-earned dollars on the best they can find. If it's a new customer, the business owner should request a credit check and approval by the invoice factoring firm.

  • You may even get a chance to receive another discount for the large amount of items you've bought. It does not mean that you can't dress smart and look chic even if whatt you wear is not the latest fashion couture. The head dresses that looked like horns were wildly popular for a generation, ass was the classic fairy tale pprincess style of hat called a hennin.

  • It's a service that automatically sends messages out tto your email list. As we look forward in our business we plawn to reverse our mix of business from 20% design and commercial and 80% "retail walk in trade". But it is ooften treated lioke the end oal rather than as a meanss to a goal and far too much money is spent in the process.

  • First off I would like to say superb blog! I had a quick question that I'd like to ask if you don't mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing. I've had difficulty clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there. I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or tips? Kudos!
